When I tested Procreate (my iPad drawing software) initially, I had a drawing practice I called A Thing a Day – drawing something I saw right now, or a detail from a photo I took myself.
Now I have been throwing a few of these things together to create a surreal collage!

A collage of my own drawings is the exact counterpart of creating Found Poetry from my own writing!
So, this is what I need to do now!
Poetry rules:
Walk through my own blog posts, starting with the previous one, going further into the past.
Take one snippet of text from each post, but it must not be part of another poem.
Do not edit, do not go back and forth, do not re-order.
The title is selected at the end, by choosing one line of the poem. The poem ends when it feels done!
~
Metaphors always get out of hand
an alien from a foreign galaxy
removed all the shackles of professionalism
to create something new!
off-the-wall geek humor versus existential questions
There it was, the magic word!
It still feels pretentious
create something energetic and aggressive
Expanding to a circle of infinite radius
Try to pass a reverse Turing test!
revive these simple joys of early
hand-drawn old-school illustrations
Be Unable to See the Colorful Death Star.
Just the creator and her ancient tools.
and found poetry
when sunlight hit
I have forgotten all the jargon
Metaphors always get out of hand.
But I have created a sparse spaceport
gleefully and confidently
In a warped sense
reminiscent of electrons in a cathode ray tube
~
Edit: It has been brought to my attention by an astute reader of this blog that I have violated my own rules! Be Unable to See the Colorful Death Star has been part of a poem! I picked it as it was also part of the poem’s title! Amending the rules on the fly: I am allowed to pick a snippet from a poem if it also has been part of the title!
